Dr Kane Meissel appointed as Principal Investigator of Our Voices, continuing the legacy of Professor Susan Morton who established the project in 2019.
The Our Voices research programme was led by renowned Professor Susan Morton since its inception in 2019. Following the resignation of Professor Morton from the University of Auckland, the role of Principal Investigator has been taken on by educational psychologist Dr Kane Meissel.
Dr Meissel has been involved in the project as a Named Investigator and was also a Domain Lead and Named Investigator in the Growing Up in New Zealand study. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role which enable the research programme to progress smoothly through this transition.
“I feel privileged to take over the leadership of this important mahi as we embark on the next exciting phase of the project.”
Professor Morton remains involved in the project as an expert advisor and holds the position of Foundation Director of the Growing Up in New Zealand study.
