The 14th annual conference of the Society for Longitudinal and Lifecourse Studies (SLLS) was held in Fribourg, Switzerland, 8 – 10 September 2025. The conference focused on the complex dynamics between policies and life course transitions and patterns, exploring the multifaceted impact of social, family, occupational, healthcare, economic and environmental policies on the lives of individuals.
Dr Kane Meissel chaired a symposium at the conference which critically examined the impact that methodological decisions can have for research findings and their substantive interpretation.
Our Voices presentations included Kane’s talk on why method matters and Georgia Rudd’s exploration of ways that academic resilience is measured in quantitative research. They were supported by Molly Grant and Esther Yao from the University of Auckland.
The conference abstract book is available here.
